Promoting Economic Empowerment for Teen Mothers

Hon. Betty Ethel Naluyima is committed to supporting teen mothers in Wakiso District by creating opportunities for economic independence and personal growth. Recognizing the challenges young mothers face in continuing education and earning a livelihood, she implements programs that provide skills training, mentorship, and startup support to help them become self-reliant.

These initiatives equip teen mothers with practical skills in areas such as tailoring, entrepreneurship, ICT, and small-scale business management. By gaining these skills, young mothers are empowered to generate income, support their families, and improve their quality of life while regaining confidence and dignity.

Beyond vocational training, Hon. Naluyima fosters mentorship and peer support networks, connecting teen mothers with role models, local leaders, and community organizations. These networks provide guidance, encouragement, and access to resources, helping participants navigate social and economic challenges effectively.

Through sustained engagement and empowerment programs, Hon. Naluyima demonstrates a deep commitment to youth development and women’s empowerment. By supporting teen mothers economically and socially, she strengthens community resilience and promotes inclusive growth across Wakiso District.
